No matter your flavor, New York City has a neighborhood for everyone. Some like the hustle and bustle of downtown, while others appreciate the quiet charm of the West Village or the chicness of Tribeca. But for those looking for classic elegance, nothing beats the Upper East Side.
This weekend I visited an apartment for rent on the Upper East Side that embodied this sense of refinement. Just a block off Central Park in the 70’s, the building had a decorative wrought iron fence in front and a tiled mosaic floor in the lobby. The apartment interior included crown molding, exposed brick in the living room, and interior windows between the living room and bedroom that made the rooms feel even larger than they were.
Priced at $3,995 per month, the apartment was a reminder that they just don’t build ’em like they used to.
